This is a great day in cyberspace! The dynamic voices of the conservative community in Saginaw County can now speak their minds on the topics of most concern to them. Please join us as we vent, laugh, educate, motivate, and accomplish great things in the months ahead!
We ask only two things: CIVILITY and RESPECT!
Don't worry about offending others; we rejoice in the right we have as American citizens to freely offend with what we say!
After all, if we can't freely offend, then we can't freely speak! Take advantage of this right and USE it, for it is only in offensive speech that we are challenged to think!
It is through 'offensive' speech that we are forced to grow in our capacity to respond with intelligence and humor (perhaps that's why the Dems are so lousy at this...?!)
HOWEVER...offending others should only be in the category of challenging their beliefs (and maybe their actions!). We are not interested in OFFENDING on the basis of physical characteristics which no one can control. So please use common sense and write your offensive thoughts with CIVILITY and RESPECT! (yes, it can be done!)
To start things off, give us your opinions on the latest fiasco by the legislature in repealing the service tax and placing a 21.9 'surcharge' on the MBT. What say you to this?
It's about time we had something for us conservatives here in this forsaken democrat ruled town!!! As for the recent tax hike...that's all dems know how to do...tax and spend, spend and tax...when will people wise up to their tactics??? KICK THE BUMS OUT! (starting with granholm!)

How do you go from eliminating the Single Business Tax or SBT, a job-killer that many thought helped fuel Michigan's faltering economy and was repealed almost by public acclamation, to a 22% "surcharge" on top of its replacement, the Michigan Business Tax? Democrats! That's how.

I'm thrilled that the Saginaw County GOP has its own blog site. It'll be interesting to hear posts about potential candidates for office.

This is a great opportunity to keep up with what's going on in Saginaw County.
Question for the host as we get started; responding is simple, but how do we get a new article on the blog?
BTW - Merry Christmas to all

I say these tax increases are just more proof this governor doesn't have a clue about how to lead this state. I remember in 2002 when then-candidate Jennifer Granholm was complainging about how terrible it was that John Engler had given us a $1 billion deficit. Now it is 0ver $4 billion! These tax schemes are nothing more than covering Granholm's butt in order to show she is doing SOMETHING. However, whether it was the service tax, the surcharge on the SBT, or her latest round of increases, Granholm has been a failure!!!!! Remember Dick DeVos? Wha would he have done? What would he do now? He would have balanced our state budget by now and probably would have done it WITHOUT RAISING TAXES!!!!!!!!!!!!! We need our state legislative body to keep on fighting the good fight against these tax increases until 2010, when Granholm can't run again and we elect a new (Republican!) governor.
